Bottle. Almost black, opague. Roasted malt, licorice and hints of smoke in the aroma. Malty sweet roasty smoky flavor. Hint of ash and fat sausage. Smooth, silky. Low on carbon. Nice!

Tap at WvhNLB2016 @ Grote Kerk, Den Haag. Almost black with beige head. Light smoked and roasted malts, sour red fruits. Sourness lingering through a sweet and medium bitter. Tap at NBPF. Almost black with beige head. Lots of smoked and roasted malts, some sour red fruits, red wine, bitter herbs and some leaves. Light sweet and sour and medium bitter. Over medium bodied.

Draft at The Hague beer festival. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of overripe dark fruits, chocolate, tart dark fruits, roast, light Brett funk and malt. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Above medium bodied with soft carbonation.

At a tasting, thanks, small brown bubbly creamy head, opaque very dark brown color, aroma of smoke and vanila with some meaty notes, flavor of smoke and charred wood with some coffee in the back, light to medium mellow bitterness. Good.

sample from tap at #bfgm16, Bierfestival Groningen ’16 pitch black with a huge full brown head. aroma of laurel, malts, hops, roasted and burnt malts, chocolate. taste of laurel, malts, hops, roasted and burnt malts, chocolate.vanilla, medium sour notes.... why ???? quite sweet, medium bitterness, long alcoholic taste, low carbonation, medium body, don’t like the sour notes..

Bottle 250ml. [ As Oersoep Belgisch Kongo ].Clear dark black brown color with a average to large, frothy - creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, sweet malt, smoke, wood, meat. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration, sweet malt, roasted, chocolate, dark chocolate, malt bitter. Body is medium to full, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20150924]
