A dessert in a glass. This beer is brewed using unfermentable lactose sugar, vanilla beans and plenty of roasted malts to provide a sweet, smooth caramel drinking experience. No blowtorch was used in the making of this beer.

Svart med høyt tykt lys brunt skum. Creme brulee, ja det er fløtelukt der, og karamell, mot karamellpudding og karamellsaus faktisk. Fortsetter i smak, litt saltere enn dessertene. Noe flyktig lett sjokoladebitterhet.

Can shared with Ashton McCobb. Pours clear dark brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of vanilla, burnt sugar, almost rhubarb and custard. Taste is stewed fruit, vanilla custard, some dark sugar again. Sweet finish. Did what it set out to do. Nice.

Can. Appearance - opaque black with a nice fawn head. Nose - caramelised sugar, light chocolate. Vanilla custard too! Taste - tonnes more of the same. Then a tangy stewed fruit thing. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a balanced creamy finish. Overall - does what it says on the tin.

Can from The Beerhive. Black body with a medium tan head. Good lacing. Aroma of candy sugar, crème brûlée, butterscotch and a hint of banana. Flavour of burnt malt, caramel and custard. Thin to medium body with a sticky mouthfeel. Light fizz. Does exactly what it says on the tin. Lovely stuff.

Cask (Guide Dog, Southampton) - Black in colour. Treacle, liquorice, coffee and roasted malt in the aroma. Rich taste with roasted malt, treacle, coffee, cocoa and liquorice standing out. Nice but a bit too rich to have a lot of.

Canned (AbM). Deep ruby red colour, close to black, with a medium fluffy beigeish brown head. Aroma is vanilla, mild spices, some sweet liquorice, chocolate and mild coffeeish notes. Flavour is rather similar in a quite pleasant balance. Sticky sweet, so drinking this takes quite a while, although it’s rather pleasant.
