This is the end of brainwashed, glassy-eyed beer consumption.
This is the start of something special.
This is craft beer.
This. Is. Lager.
This. Is. Lager. is our attempt to reclaim one of the World's classic beer styles, in honour of the great German & Bohemian Pilsners of the 19th Century.
Brewed with 100% malt, ten times the hops of most industrial lagers & cold conditioned for 5wks,this spicy robust pilsner os lager reborn.
Expect a robust full bodied malt character on the front of the tongue, spicy citrus notes as it goes back through the palate, and an assertive bitter finish with a lemon & pepper character to round things off.
This. Is. Lager. Reclaimed. Perfected. Renewed.

Flasche: Golden, a bit unclear, visible carbonation, stable and lacy white foam; mild but distinctive herbal to floral hops in the dry bitter and grainy nose; almost solid - mainly - bitter flavour, narrow malty base still detectable, light bodied; lingering bitter-herbal finish, balanced by some pale malt. Quite simple, but gorgeous by british Lager standards…

Has cereal on the nose with a hint of lemon. Appearance is a great crystalline yellow body with modest head. Flavour is lemon and cereal with a bready finish. Relaxing on the mouth. It’s a finely crafted lager.

Bottle at The Granary, Peterborough. Surprised to see this in a Beefeater. Gold with a thin white head. A moderate to heavy fizz, yet it feels softer in the mouth than most macrobrews. In flavour terms there’s a little lemon, rather more grass and a moderate bitterness. It’s got a slightly better mouthfeel, slightly more flavour and is slightly more bitter than most (but by no means all) of the microbrews, but it’s clearly akin to them. So, marginally better than the average lager, but very poor by Brewdog standards. With low-grade beers like this appearing in mass chains like Beefeater and Wetherspoons, one feels that Brewdog are straying far from their self-proclaimed "punk" attitude and are simply moving into that appealling-to-the-lowest-common-denominator-mass-market-beer that they used to scorn. Does this beer mark the end of an era for Brewdog? I hope not but I fear so...

Bottle. A clear, golden beer with a small, dense, white head. The aroma is quite light with fruityness and some grains, and a grassy, piney touch. It’s very hop dominated in the mouth, with a nice bitterness. Dry and pleasantly carbonated with flavors of pale malts in the far back. Piney, grassy hops and some citrus peel. Long, bitter and dry finish. Rather boring finish, but with nice hop flavors. Quite quenching and easy drinkable. 150808

Bottled 33oml. -from Magic Beer Room Zagreb. Pale golden coloured, small white head, mild hoppy nose. Bready malty, lemony hoppy and grassy with mild bitterness in the finish. Drinkable but I don’t see the point of this beer.

Can. Pours clear yellow, with a big creamy head. Expecting yet an overhopped monster, it was a pleasant surprise confirming a nice pilsnerish aroma of light roasted pilsner malts with bread, as well as quite subdued hoppy notes of herbs, grass and citrus. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet roasted malts, with bread, cereals and honey, as well as crisp citrusy hops, with notes of grass and pepper. Finishes off with some sweet bready malts, and lingering citrusy bitterness.
