Berry Champagne Ale

On tap at Heartland, Empire State, NYC. Pale golden in the glass, with a small, white head on top. Fruityness, white sugar and raspberry in the aroma, with a faint spiced hint in the far back. Might as well be the berries tricking me. It’s medium bodied, light and nicely carbonated, with a generic fruityness and some raspberry dominating the flavor, both initially and in the end. Pale malts too. Rather short finish. A refreshing one, but a tad boring I think. 150624

Pours slightly hazy golden with a white head. Aroma has notes of malt, sweet raspberry, yeasty, citrus and ginger. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long slightly dry, fruity and yeasty finish. Body is light, texture is thin, carbonation is soft.

Draught. Hazy pale yellow with medium sized off-white foamy head, faint berry aroma, high carbonation, slightly sweet fruity taste, medium finish. Quite refreshing, very much champagne-like.

(Draught at HB Union Square) Golden and clear. Medium sized white head. Berries and particularly raspberry in aroma. Light bodied palate with sparkling carbonation. Malts, berries, raspberry, light sourness and lightly bitterness in taste. Berries and lighly malty aftertaste.
