Narwhal Imperial Stout is inspired by the mysterious creature that thrives in the deepest fathoms of the frigid Arctic Ocean. Rich with notes of espresso, baker’s cocoa, roasted grain and a light hint of smoke, Narwhal brims with malt complexity. Aggressive but refined with a velvety smooth body and decadent finish, Narwhal will age in the bottle for years to come.

Bottle picked up from Biervana, Munich and consumed at Campingplätz Ortherhof, nr Ruhpolding, Southern Bavaria, Saturday 25th January 2020 listening to Norman Jay doing the Funk and Soul show on 6Music and cooking a Spinach and Ricotta Cannelloni. Lovely softness in the mouth, nice roastiness, however it's a little creamy and with plenty of dark chocolate and cocoa. A little bitter edge to the roast, lovely, really lovely

355ml bottle bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Dissipating noisy, tan-coloured head, clingy lacing, black in the glass. Roasted malt-driven aromas, hints of caramel and cocoa. Mixed taste of dried fruits, nuts and dark chocolate. Molasses backbone. Roasted lingering finish, oily palate. Decent slow sipper on a Saturday eve, just a little unvaried. (Tromsø 07.12.2019).

Last of the beers I picked up in Orlando a couple of months ago, time to do the taste on Narwhal. A 12 oz bottle, 2019 version, it is going into my ABGB snifter. Jet black with no head to speak of although the carbonation appears to be working. A welcoming smell, berries, chocolate and cut hay. The taste, whoa, I like it. Some coal, dark chocolate, strawberry, wood, medicine and a small sweetness. Good without being great, I would certainly drink again.

Bottle, 0.355l. Black pour, half finger frothy beige head, medium lasting. Good lacing as it goes down. Malty nose, a bit on the sweet side. Caramel and figs, cocoa notes in the background. Slightly roasted. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Chewy texture, smooth mouthfeel, really nice. Taste not as sweet as nose would suggest. Nicely balanced, roasty and bittersweet. Aroma is heavily malty, caramel and molasses, roasted malt, coffee, cocoa. Dark chocolate. Mild fruity fig notes. Pronounced coffee in the aftertaste. Nicely warming alcohol, well balanced. Medium lasting finish, mildly sweet with a touch of fruit tart. Pretty good.

2018 bottle at Goblet ZG. Thanks someone for sharing! Dark brown body, pale brown head. Odd aroma, full maltiness, raisins, a bit tart. Oily taste, caramel-driven, some roast, sweetish, maybe coffee. Kinda expected more, but it's fine enough.
