20.05.2014, 0,33l bottle @ home:
Big slightly fizzy-creamy longlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet grainy, caramel malts, hay, grain, yeast, dried fruits, almond essence, grass. Taste is kind of harsh yeasty, hay, almond essence, harsh yeast, grass, caramel malts, weeds, bark. Medium bitterness, harsh mouthfeel, high carbonation. Not my cup of tea.

Bottle at home. The colour is cloudy reddish brown with a medium, beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, brown sugar, oak, leather and caramel. Is also pretty sweet. The flavour mirrors the aroma but adds a touch of alcohol. Slick mouth feel, and has a light bitterness. A sweet but balanced Belgian ale. Very nice.

Tasted from tap at Nederlandse Bierporeffestival on 17/05/2014. Dark amber colour with a pefect creamy head. Full body and nice carbonation. The alcohol is very well balanced with the taste. Taste, aroma and aftertaste is predominated by the caramel. There are some fruit on the taste, maybe banana and orange. Finish is fruity and a little spicy. Next one please!

On tap. Pours a reddish brown with full retentive head. Aromas of dark raisins, copper, and spice. Rich flavours of dark fruit, spice, malts and tobacco. Great. Not normally a fan of big Belgians on tap. I may have to convert.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein leicht trübes bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit ordentlicher Schaumkrone. Geruch hefig, malzig süß, leicht würzig. Geschmack leicht hefig, fruchtig malzig, Gewürze, blumig.

Fairly bitter, with a big sweetness going on as well. Sticky caramel, lots of banana in the smell and taste, something prune'ish. Quite thick, good body, low carbonation. Alcohol is noticable, which isn't good at this ABV. Not my style. Meh.

19th April 2025: Draft @ La Trappe. Pours a clear amber, white head. Aroma of sweet icing tripel esters. Quite a bright tripel sweetness, more characterful than the standard tripel, lovely silky smooth palate. Nice

11th Feb 2014: 330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Massive, brilliantly blended taste that has a lot in common with the tripel style. Rich, full bodied and an absolute joy to drink.
