650 ml bottle bought @ Ølbutikken. Pours hazy orange with a big frothy white head that leaves tons of trace and lacing on the glass while slowly dissipating. Smell is sweet and bitter with caramel, peaches, oily pine, wood, resin, freshly cut grass, cookie dough, orange peal, lemon zest, grapefruit juice and mango. Taste is sweet, bitter, tiny sour and rather malty with caramel, grapefruit juice, lemon peal, peaches, unripe mago, papaya, resin, oily pine, grass, wood and hints of bread and wet earth. Mouthfeel is smooth, creamy, tiny sticky sweet and medium to full bodied. Finish is tiny sweet and bitter with oily pine, grapefruit juice, orange peal, very ripe peaches and freshly cut grass. Perfectly balanced and really good. Bottled late January so nice to get an almost fresh American IIPA for once.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/9/12

Aroma: The nose has lots of grapefruit, peach, and orange, with some nice pine/resin notes as well
Appearance: It pours a bright orange color with thick foam of white head and mid-heavy lace-work
Flavor: The taste has some light sweetness, but it heavy on the citric (almost acidic) hop bitterness
Palate: The body is medium, it is fairly creamy on the mouth, and it has a dry, almost acidic, finish
Overall Impression: I found this to be a really nice Double IPA. It has a lot of citrus to it, and it works pretty well. The citric/acidic bitterness that the hop produced were a unique and fairly interesting part of this beer. I liked it.

22 oz. bottle. Julio’s Liquors for $7.99 before Wild Six Discount. Aromas of citrus, floral and lighter earthy hops. Lots of malt and of course hops. Taste of citrus fruits, pine, grass, sweeter malt and a bitter, hoppy finish with light alcohol. Lots of bitterness throughout. Really close to being too much for my palate.

Hazy golden coloured body with a thick, four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of resin, hay, grapefruit, yeast and a touch of light sugars. Medium-bodied; Strong assertive grassy and herbal hop flavour with a touch of resin, grapefruit and strong pine notes with a good malt backbone, some floral tastes and a hint of earthiness at the end. Aftertaste is very nice with a lot of the hops showing through, but a good balance for the style, with the alcohol really coming through at the end. Overall, a nice imperial ipa, despite the size and the abv, a nice showing that isn’t horribly overpowering. I sampled this 65 cL bottle purchased from Total Wine in Tustin, California by haddon90 and brought out to me in Washington, sampled at home here in the Nation’s Capital on 06-February-2011 a day after returning from Orange County. Thanks Phil!

Bitterer, wenig zitrusartiger Hopfenbeginn. Trocken, etwas holzig. Der Hopfen ist weich, leider aber weniger voluminös als gedacht. Nun eher bitter, kurz laff. Anschließend erdig-trocken, wenig nach Orange. OK! 11/11/11/10/10/11

Enjoyed as part of a beer flight at Haven Gastropub in Orange, CA. Unfortunately my phone died while taking notes. Appearance was gold with thin white head. Aroma and flavor was very much fruity. In the Bahamas there’s a soda called Goombay Punch, it’s a light fruit punch that has a distinct pineapple/mango/passion fruit quality, and this beer encompassed it. Goes down pretty smooth and very enjoyable. Great stuff.

65 cl bottle @ Timo A. Bottled 04.09.2011
Aroma is rather nice and fresh with exotic fruits (mango) and resin. Flavour is fruity with resin, some spicy notes and hints of fruit sugar. Not too sweet like DIPAs usually are for me. Delicious!

Nice and hoppy still, but there’s some woody element trying to ruin the show.

Bottle at Brewdog Camden. It pours cloudy bright orange, with a thin white head. The nose is tangerine, orange, mango, pine and resin. The taste is tangy orange, tangerine, dough, pine, resin, salt and alcohol warmth, with a big bitter finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Tasty stuff, but really lacks the drinkability of Wipeout IPA.
