Refreshment, thy name is Clementine. One sip of this White Ale transports you to the shade of a mighty tree, lounging in the peace of a crisp spring afternoon. Luscious citrus flavors and Belgian spice abound in Clementine, which features additions of Sweet Orange Peel, Coriander, and Mandarina Hops. The use of a Belgian Ale yeast strain contributes a tinge of peppery flavor to this crisp summer companion.

Draft at Imbibe Wine. Nose is spicy coriander, wheat, and some citrus. Murky yellow with a medium pale yellow head. Flavor is spicy, peppery, yeasty, and some light bitterness. Pretty good wit!

Pours a hazy deep straw color with a smallish bubbly white head that persists for a while. Smells of clove and allspice with a sweet light sugary malt base and a light lemony tart spicy wheat twang. The flavor is sweet honey and sugar with a bunch of clove and lemony orange with a tart wheaty edge. Medium body with a spirited level of carbonation and a bubbly sweet mouthfeel. Not my favorite style and not my cup of tea. Stylistically I’ve had better examples of the style, this one has clashing flavors imho.

From a bottle. I didn’t think I was going to like this becuase so many times lately, these white beer are over spiced. Not so with this brew. Had a rather crisp citrus aroma. First taste is mellowly yeasty tart fun. Certainly not overspiced but there is enough inthere to let you know its not pure white ale. Sizzly, adds interest to the overall experience. Bubbly and somewhat voalitile, must be over 5%. Unique mildly sharp finsih that never goes over the top. Yes, better than expected. I shall not lose hope in these white beers. I like them unspiced and this one is pretty good.

Biggish white head. Clear yellow body with strong carbonation. Orangey coriander aroma with mealy lavender notes. Dry papery lavender taste with orangey mealy notes. Mid-to-thin body. Faintly sharp mealy mouthfeel. Dryish lavender and coriander aftertaste with mealy orangey herbal notes. Not bad, but not great, either. Slightly artificial-seeming from all the lavender. (0.65l bottle, from Kihoskh, Copenhagen.)

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy golden color with a large creamy orange-white head that left a bit of lacing. The aroma was orange, sugar, honey and bread. The flavor was tart orange, lemon, artificial sugar, bread and had a moderately musty undertone. Medium length musty orange and lemon finish. Medium body. Ok.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a weizen glass. Pours translucent orange with golden highlightswith medium white head which dies down some. Good lacing, medium body, well carbonatied, and slightly dry coriander aroma. Taste is slightly dry orange, coriander, and slightly bitter hop finish. A little dry, but pretty good.

Bottle. Pours orange gold with white head. Nose/taste of orange zest, lemon, banana, citrus and light spice. Finishes with light spicy orange rind. Medium body. One of the better Belgian style American wits I’ve had recently.
