Stout met Hout is een sterk, stoer doch elegant bier. Om de bierbewaarheid te ondersteunen is Gagel en Jeneverbes toegevoegd. Hout, vanille en koffie complementeren de moutsmaken. Het 120 minuten continu toevoegen van de Engelse hopsoort UK Pilgrim draagt bij aan het exclusieve karakter van dit bier. Het is aangenaam kruidig met een toon van ceder en een vleugje citrus.

Bottle at home, batch 2015 09 16. Aroma is dark malt, wood, some whiskey, touch of juniper and dark fruits, roast, some coffee, cocoa, liquorice. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter. Body is medium. Not as full as I’d like, but the aroma has some complexity to it. Nice one.

In der Nase englischer Tabak, Wacholder. Im Trunk ebenso, nur noch intensiver. Das muss man mögen, ist schon sehr derb, fast wie Rauchtee. In jedem Fall aber außergewöhnlich.

Bottle: 2014 brewed in Hooge Zwaluwe. Almost black. Malt, salt and licorice in the aroma. Malty sweetish rosty slightlky herbal flavor with hints of licoirce. Hint of juniper, but the oak remains largely unnotices, Nice beer, though.Earlier Rating: 5/7/2012 Total Score: 3.62012 bottle. Dark brown color. Malt, roast and a hint of oak in the aroma. Malty roasty flavor with oaky notes, warming alcohol, bourbon and licorice. Thinnish, alcoholic, but not bad.

Fles thuis geprobeerd. Het is een donkerbruin tot zwart bier met een dun beige schuim. Het heeft een moutige wat houtige geur. De smaak van gebrande mout en koffie met wat tonen van rook.

Opaque ruby brown colour, small creamy tan head, dissipates slowly, sticky lacing. Aroma roasted malt, black currant, candy sugar, cocoa, black coffee, wood notes. Taste medium sweet and bitter, malty, chocolate, dark coffee, vanilla, wood, some liquorice. Malty sweetbitter aftertaste, chocolate, coffee, wood. Medium body, oily to creamy texture, soft carbonation, very good.

Pours dark brown from the bottle. A creamy beige head turns thin. Aroma is bitter chocolate, oak, charred grains, vanilla. Taste is sweet to bittersweet up front, a burnt bitterness takes the upper hand afterwards. Body is medium, carbonation is soft. Warm and alcoholic with whiskey notes at the end. Pretty good.

dark brown colour, moderate sized creamy beige head; aroma of coffee, cocoa powder, grape notes, dried fruits and hints of whisky notes; taste is the same; altogether not an imperial stout with intensive aroma and taste notes - quite temperate

330ml Bottle - Black in colour. Vanilla, coffee, blackcurrant and whisky in the aroma. Smooth, roasted and moderately rich taste with cocoa, blackcurrant, vanilla and coffee standing out. The whisky notes are fairly restrained compared to similar beers of this type and that is by no means a bad thing in this case.
