Genuine specialty ale with a splendorous golden colour and silky mouthfeel. Fermented with sake yeast and partially frozen with Eisbock method. This beer has a delicate and elegant fruity and mineral flavour like a Katana's swing sound through the weightless wind. Banzai!

This genuine specialty beer is our tribute to the iconic Japanese feature film Shogun Assassin. We pay tribute to the imagery, the music and the storytelling but there is also a deeper layer we wish to unfold.

We at Macken Bryggeri all strive to push our boundaries, to challenge our preconceptions and to break on through to the other side. Humbly, but sternly, we let the lone wolf and cub lead us unto untrodden paths. What we will find there is not certain, and possibly irrelevant, as long as we stay true to our hearts and refuse to conform.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 25 Sep 2015) Golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of dried fruit, tropical fruit and slightly earthy hops. Malty taste with dried fruit, apricots, a touch of smoke, a slightly earthy mushroom yeast character (from sake yeast) and a gentle spicy bitterness. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Different and quite interesting. Fermented with sake yeast and partially frozen. Quite nice.

Sample at SBWF 2015. A bit hazy golden/orange with a white head. Aroma and taste of malt, some caramel, light fruit and hay. The body was medium and the bitterness on the light side. An ok one.
