La Moneuse is named for A. J. Moneuse (b. 1768), a famous local bandit and gang leader, and ancestor of the brewers’ family. It is a classic "saison" beer by virtue of its strength and its earthy, aged quality. It has a hardy, semi-dry malt character, a fresh but not overpowering hoppiness, abundant yeasty, fruity flavors and a fairly strong, but pleasant and enticing mustiness.

Prawie doskonale farmerskie piwo sezonowe. Prosto z niewielkiego browaru. Piana az wypada z pokala, Trwala i wielka, slimakowa. Metnosc spora, Kolor pomaranczowy, a po przelaniu drozdzy nagle staje sie brazowe i mocno brudne. Aromat skoszonej trawy, wiejsjkiej aury i troche obory nawet. W smaku trawiaste i zbozowo-chlebowe.

Bottle at "Ölkalas hos Ekne". Slightly hazy reddish/brown with a huge head. On the sweet side with yeast, fruit, malt, some spices and some light notes of "earth". Lively carbonation and with a dry finish.

Pretty good saison. Carbonation a little fizzy. Pours cloudy dark with champagne-like fizziness. Good head and lacing. Light taste of bretta with smell of sour apple. Some nice funk. Nicely balanced and well-drinkable. Finishes slightly bitter, slightly sour. Bottle thanks to SlovakSniper.

750 ml bottle bought @ beerplanet.be. Gusher! Pours hazy amberish golden with a huge frothy and bubbly goldenish white head that slowly dissipates while leaving a sticky trace on the glass. Smell is malty, fruity and slightly funky with cereal, hay, cloves, white pepper, barnyard, dry wood, lemon zest, red wine and hints of dried tropical fruits. Taste is tiny sweet, tiny bitter and tiny fruity with crackers, cereal, hay, bread, barnyard, dark grapes, overripe plums, dry peppery yeast, dry wood and hints of canned pears. Mouthfeel is slightly dry, tiny tart, round, slightly champagne-like and medium bodied. Finish is dry, tiny fruity and slightly spicy with crackers, dry wood, grapes, plums, lemon zest, cereal, hay and canned mandarin oranges. A great balanced and subtly funky beer..

Bouteille 750ml.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, no bottle dating. Pours lightly hazy golden orange color with a nice 3 finger fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice thick foamy lacing clings to the glass, with plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of lemon zest, pear, apple, orange zest, herbal, floral, earth, bread, pepper, and yeast spiciness. Fantastic aromas with great complexity and balance. Taste of lemon, orange, pear, pepper, bread, earth, apple, herbal, floral, and yeast spiciness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruit, pepper, herbal, floral, grass, earth, and yeast spices on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic flavor balance and complexity; with minimal cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a fairly creamy, crisp, and prickly mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is extremely well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent saison. Great flavor balance and complexity; quite smooth and very crisp to sip on. Highly enjoyable offering.
