I bladhonung har bina samlat honungsdagg, vilket är väldigt koncentrerat och sött i jämförelse med blomnektar. Honungsdaggen kommer från bladlöss, men det är inte alltid bin kommer åt den, eftersom myror aktivt försvarar bladlössen och deras värdefulla honungsdagg. Honungen till det här mjödet är insamlad från ett barrskogsområde under hösten, vilket troligtvis innebär att honungsdaggen kommer främst från gran där myror har svårare att komma fram. Det nektarbaserade inslaget i honungen domineras av ljung. Mjödet har kraftfullt blommig doft och en unik smak.

(Bottle, Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 28 Sep 2019) Pale greenish yellow colour with no head. Fruity nose with herbs, pine needles and honey. Fruity taste with spruce and pine, honey and apples. Full body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and refreshing. Quite enjoyable.

Hazy light blond color. Very strong aroma of beehive, floral, soapy. Unfortunately it’s dry and weak, with soapy and wax tones; it would have been interesting to try a sweeter version of this, the dryness and full fermentation cuts away most of the fun. Short final.

Bottled. A hazy yellow mead. The aroma has notes of pine, honey, and heather. The flavor is sweet with notes of honey, pine, anf honey, leading to a dry pine finish.

75 cl bottle. Pours cloudy yellow with no head. Aroma is pine and herbal nektar fruity. Smooth, yet solid aroma. Citric, floral, fruity and lingering smooth honey. Lingering pine and fresh wooden.

Bottled@SBWF2012. Very pale hazy yellow colour (almost silver yellow), with no head. Quite citrusy honey with mild rubbery and non-sweet nectary notes. Flavour is tart wood, sweet honey along with some strange rubbery nectar like notes. Quite unique, but then again nothing I would fancy that much again.

Bottle at mead tasting on November 2, 2012.Hazy pale yellow color, no head. Extreme honey sweet scent, heather honey and lemon. Acidic, lemon, tart taste. Lemon and honey aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, tart finish.
