’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.

A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.

Tap@ Stone’s. Clear amber, thin head. Sweet fruity, watermelon, malty aroma. Malty, sweet, grainy flavor with that watermelon coming through. Sweetish finish. Naah. Not for me.

Little hazy orange beer, big irregular off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: citrus, sweet fruity, little soapy, violet flower candy, other sweet candy. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: some citrus, very fruity, bit of exotic fruits, sweet touch, passion fruit, mango, nice bitterness. Aftertaste: citrus, bit dry, chewed up bubble gum that lost all added flavour, very bitter ending, bit malty as well.

Tap at the Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Poured a clear light to medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is resin hop biscuit bread dough. The flavour is medium bitter with a rich woody hop palate and a long bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Interesting. Hoppy for a pilsner. Quite hoppy aroma but with characteristic pilsnery smell. Taste is bitter pilsner but hoppy then a bit more fruity hop flavor before a dry finish. Leaves a nice taste. Hard to describe really. Very good for a pilsner, but...still a pilsner.

Smak och doft av humle, malt, karamell, örter, jäst och brunt socker. Riktigt frisk och fyllig, fin fruktighet och med en tydlig beska som avslutning. Riktig fin imperial pilsner.

Bottle, Stirchley Wines, Birmingham. Dark gold pour with a middling off-white head. Citrus and hops predominant in the nose., with the hops once more taking centre-stage in the flavour alongside some caramel, fruit and booze . A very drinkable take on a style that isn’t my favourite and verges on ipa territory.
