’Fad bamse’ is a highly hopped and dry hopped imperial pilsner with a light body and lovely crispyness from the lager yeast.
A Danish pilsner is typically characterized by an alcohol content of 4,6% vol., piss-yellow colour and a sexless, slightly bitter taste. But it doesn’t have to be like this…! Draft Bear is Mikkellers interpretation of a ’pilsner’, heavyweight-style. With its powerful hop notes, high alcohol content and lovely golden appearance, the only reference to the pilsner style is the clean taste of the lager yeast.

At a tasting, thanks Dagan, small stable head, a bit hazy deep orange colour to gold colour, aroma of orange marmalade, orange blossom, herbs and a touch of butter, flavour of orange, stone fruits, bread, spiciness and some herbs . Good, but not really a pilsener.

Bottle from Yamaichi. Deep golden, slightly cloudy, with a high, fine head. Rich malty aroma, honey, grains, esters, some grass. Smells a bit aged. Sweet honey malt flavor, very rich and sweet but also very bitter. Some peach or apricot, pears, bread, alcohol. Full bodied. Cloying then harshly bitter. Decent but not really well assembled, and not very lager-like at all

33cl bottle from Dranken Geers, BB 07-12-2014.

Tap at Craft Beer Co Brighton. It pours cloudy amber, with a thin white head. The nose is orange squash, resin, touch of grass and citrus pith. The taste is citrus pith, spice, pine, resin, brown bread, orange squash, marmalade and a touch of alcohol warmth, with a long, bitter-dry finish. Full flavour, yet still easy drinking.

A really unexpected taste. Some odd skunkwater aroma that actually goes down well. Strong alcohol aftertaste. Creamy, heady, great tracing. Tried on tap at the Farmhouse Tap and Grill in Burlington.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. (rating number 1900) Clear golden with a medium white head. Aroma and taste of hops, grass and light toasted malt. The taste was refreshing and with a dry aftertaste. Medium body and carbonation.
