Bottle, 12C. Amber with an off white head that’s soon a coat. Aroma of singed nuts, caramel, coriander, cloves. 6+ It’s not unpleasant but is harder and less welcoming that it might be. Just medium bodied, fairly low carbonation. Moderately sweet with a lean towards dry at the end which is spicy and moderately bitter. There’s a lot more depth to the malt side than suggested by the aroma - it’s rich but not that sweet, with toasted nuts, sultanas, wild figs. Bitterness is just enough to clean up without sweeping the malt aside. Lovely weight, balance and finish.
