Bottle. Hazy yellow, no head. Confronting herbal aroma - previous Red Duck gruit beers’ aromas have suggested sour, this one says bitter. But underneath there is straightforward, maybe slightly honeyed pale malt. Lightish bodied (ie a fair bit of body for 3.7%), very low carbonation. Much less confronting to drink than smell: there’s a pleasant balance of simple pale malty sweetness, mild sourness and herbal bitterness. Lemon, woody spices, peppery berries. Sage is perhaps the most prominent of the listed ingredients.
