bottle, donated by Bierkoning - Thank you! Deep brown colour, mid-sized head. Malty nose. Full-bodied, intensively malty with hints of raisins, caramel and cocoa powder, also dark chocolate. Perhaps a tiny smoky touch. A very tasty and nice beer with a very, very shy smoky touch.

Bottle. A hazy, brown beer with a nice but a bit small beige head. Smoked, malty and sweetish aroma with a fruity touch. Full-bodied, effervescent mouthfeel with flavors of sweetness, fruit, some toffee and smoke. The smoke is more evident in the finish, where also roasted malt and a sugary sweetness is present. A quite nice smoked beer that doesn’t let the smoke do all the work. (080412)

Courtesy of bierkoning, thanks Edo! Hazy nut brown color, small brownish head. Mild nose: yeast and caramel. Bitter, alcoholic, some candy sugar and herbs. Foamy mouthfeel. Simple drinkable Dutch winterbeer. Didn’t find any smoke.

Aroma is moderate yeasty, soap, barnyard, caramel, smoke. Flavor is moderate sweet and light bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (120408)

Bottle, 8.5%. The aroma is quite metallic, takes a while to waft off. Hazy chestnut colour. Semi-stable light brown head. The flavour starts off nicely and distinctly roasted, then turns smoky and finally vinous. Perhaps a bit too fruity for my liking. High carbonation.
