From tap at Lost Coast, Eureka. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, coffee, chocolate, touch of liquorice, some dark fruits, with raisins. Flavour is sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Body is medium. Not the biggest body and flavour, but hides its abv well. Very basic Imperial Stout, but not bad.

Bomber from Craft Beer Kings. Pours dark brown with a fairly dark tan head. Aroma of dark treacle and something like a non-citrus hop. Not quite full bodied. Flavor is dark treacle, chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and some bitter hop I can't quite pin down. Much drier than expected, and fairly bitter. Not one of those malt bomb ISs.

Bottle. Black with a tan head that settles to a cm. Roasty and somewhat earthy aroma with some chocolate, berries, citrus zest. Medium bodied, rather oily. No sign of the alcohol. Anise and licorice turn out to be surprisingly prominent in the taste. Medium sweet with nicely judged firmish bitterness. Lacks a bottom end rumble and the chocolate goes a bit missing. The aroma promised a bit more than what was delivered.

On Tap at the TapHouse Boise Black witha long lasting thin creamy tan head and lacing. Aroma is very nice palance of moderate dark roast and chocolate. A little licorice in the flavors and an otherwise mostly dark chocolate. Smooth and rich. The 10% ABV is hidden well.
