Apparently, Adam was pretty disappointed when the serpent offered him an apple. And we don’t blame him. This Forbidden Fruit is dark red, softly sweet, caressing and full in the mouth. It is brewed with roasted malt and hops, giving it a typical herbal plant aroma. By the way, it’s not forbidden to have a taste.

Pours clear dark amber with a big, foamy, lasting, off-white head. The aroma contains apple, raisin, licorice, chocolate, herbs, caramel, orange. It tastes medium fruity & malty sweet and light spicy bitter; dry, herbal, fruity finish. Medium body, creamy texture, fizzy carbonation. Probably not to everyone’s taste, but recommendable. This one poured a nice dark Amber colour with a light tan coloured, creamy head. Scents include wieners/yeast, ripe fruit and spice. First swig was quite nice with citrus hop flavour, candy and a little yeast. A little bitter on the finish with fruit flavours lingering.

T: very soft sweet orange, coriander malt, hint of fruity smoked sweetness/earthiness, sour bitterness/cellar tones, medium to full body, medium carbonation, a pine tree hoppy aftertaste, nice example of Belgian Strong Ale.

Pours honey-coloured, hazy, with a nice creamy tan head. Aroma is cookie, honey, butterscotch and bread. Taste starts slightly sweet, developing a mouth-covering body and a nice bitterless finish.

Bottle from Masuyo’s. Pours a clear copper with a nice latte-colored head that lasts mostly throughout. Nose is covered in fruit: apricot, papaya, banana and prune with some nutmeg and fennel seed present. Taste is very similar with some banana and pepper coming through as well. The finish is slightly warming with nice fruity and peppery characteristics. Would be better in the winter around the holidays I suppose.
