On tap at Vultures Lane. Pine, orange, chocolate, toast. Little oily texture. Not bad.

From a 500ml bottle on 27/10/2015. Pours a dark brown with a big light tan head. The aroma features lots of fruity hops and some light roasty and chocolate notes. The flavour is rich and balanced, with more roasted and chocolate malt, lots of sweet citrus fruit, and oodles of firm hops. Medium bodes with soft carbonation. A really good black IPA.

Bottle, 6.8% ABV. Dark brown with a large beige head. Pleasant but slightly subdued aroma with citrus, some chocolate and roast, nectarines and pine. Medium bodied, moderate to high carbonation. Lots of citrus and some Sichuan pepper and licorice, peach, a little roast and cocoa - enough to make it clear that it’s not coloured black, not a lot more. Pretty good but not as vibrant as I’d hoped.

Dark brown head that is not too tight. Pitch black color. Nose smacks you with tobacco, molassess, dark chocolate and moderate hoppiness. Big dark roasted mouth with tons of hops - cotton candy and apples. Really well balanced, moderately bitter. Big bad finish. Yum. This is a fantastic Black IPA that is highly quaffable. Definitely a top notch beer.
