St. Bernardus Abt 12 is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world. It is therefore no surprise that it is our brewery’s flagship beer, ranked at the very top of the St. Bernardus beer hierarchy. It is brewed in the classic quadrupel style and adheres to the original 1946 recipe. This is a dark beer with a robust head that is ivory in colour. EBC 60.

Equilibre. Si je devais réduire cette critique à un mot, ce serait celui-là. Tout est équilibre dans cette bière. Alcool/Amertume/Alcool sont savamment dosés dans une alliance parfaite, l'alcool conférant du caractère sans être disgracieux, l'amertume conférant de la fraîcheur sans être agressive, le sucre conférant de la douceur sans lourdeur. Les arômes dansent au palais. Arômes fruités et torréfiés s'entremêlent à merveille : banane, poire, fruits rouges, raisin, pruneau, café, chocolat, mélasse, vanille. Aucun ne prédomine mais chacun d'entre eux vient enrichir l'ensemble dans une multitude de variations. La bouche est pleine et la longueur parfaite. Je préfère me taire et vous laisse découvrir.

Bottle 33cl. Finally, I have rated this beer before but where did the rating go. Amber with a nice off White head(dark). Aroma of malt, spices, fruits and caramelish sense. Medium bitter with a warm malt and fruit end. Brosundet bar, Ålesund.
