St. Bernardus Abt 12 is widely regarded as one of the best beers in the world. It is therefore no surprise that it is our brewery’s flagship beer, ranked at the very top of the St. Bernardus beer hierarchy. It is brewed in the classic quadrupel style and adheres to the original 1946 recipe. This is a dark beer with a robust head that is ivory in colour. EBC 60.

Bottle. Tesco. One of those you thought you’d ticked already. Clear deep ruby red. Noisy dirty tan foam. Nose has leathery sweaty yeast. Vine fruit. Taste has a baked apple sweetness. Pretty dry and vinous. Lively carbonation doesn’t sit right. Dry vinous finish. Incredible in its nondescript-ness.

Barwa ciemno miedziana, klarowne, piana beżowa, średnio obfita, średnio trwała. W aromacie ciemne owoce, karmel, szlachetny alkohol. W smaku półsłodkie, sporo nut karmelu, ciemnego pieczywa z rodzynkami, figi, daktyle, nieco przypraw i goździka. Goryczka niska, wysycenie średniowysokie, ciało w normie, umiarkowana pijalność, alkohol niespecjalnie ułożony. W porządku, ale są lepsze quady.

11.2oz bottle. Pours murky brown with small beige head. Aroma dried fruit, malt, caramel sweetness. Flavour has tartness and sweetness of dried fruit, some sweet malt, winter spices. A bit acrid and some boozy warmth on the finish . Mouthfeel high in carbonation. Excellent beer.

Ruby/brown beer, smell has caramel and toasty malt. Flavour has sweet, toasty malt too, fruit, a little biscuit. Punchy and boozy, very decent.
