Koff Porter is a top fermented dark, almost black, unfiltered beer, with a malty roasted aroma. Four different malts are used for this brew: Pilsner, Münchener, coloured and brown malt. These make up the beer’s characteristic aromas: roastedness, chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Koff Porter is generously hopped with Saazer and bittering hops.

7.2% just 2.50 euros from Alko. A thick viscous pour and a thick luscious dark tan head. Kind of grassy aroma which doesn’t impress me that much. The taste is way better! Smooth silly mouthfeel. Roast coffee & chocolate. Really good stuff & great value if you can find it. You don’t taste the 7.2% at all. On second smell you do get some roasted malts but it is still s bit grainy. The taste remains wonderful, not super deep but satisfying. A go to porter if you’re ever in Finland.

Pours pitch black with thick dark beige silky head. Aroma and taste brings to mind semi-sweet chocolate, lingering sweet bitterness on the palate. All around this is an excellent beer. Complex, smooth and drinkable.

Bottle from trade with rosenbergh, many thanks Jan
Finally I can drink famous Finnish Porter. Almost black colored beer with medium quickly dissappearing beige head. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, dried fruits in aroma. Taste, roasted malt, dried berries, dark chocolate, coffee. Chocolatey finish. Dry and warming, although alcohol is dangerously hidden. Yummy.

Bottle shared at a tasting at avrashi?s place. Thanks oh6gdx for this bottle. Black with a light brown head. Nice roasty aroma with light smokiness, slightly meaty, some dark chocolate and cocoa. Roasty and slightly smoky flavor with a bit of coffee-ish notes, a bit of dark chocolate and a burnt bitter finish. Medium-full-bodied. A good one. 7/4/7/4/15=3.7

Stopped regular rating 22nd Oct 2012 so this is one of my occasional ratings. This bottle very kindly passed on by Rune & Finn, at Kernel Brewery November 2012. Cheers Rune & Finn. Consumed Friday 14th December 2012 Pours very dark in fact it is surely black. Very roasty and with bitter cocoa showing, in fact this is really quite chocolaty but as stated already it is bitter dark, quality chocolate. Soft in the mouth, the head is mid brown, dry in the finish, a little salty liquorice but again it is the bitter cocoa that I keep coming back to. Quality beer, love this. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 3.9

Bottle @ Akkurat. Black colour with a tanned long-lasting head. Aroma of chocolate, dark fruit. Smooth full-bodied. Flavour of chocolate, grain malt. Didn’t expect much from this, so it came as a big surprise. A very good baltic porter.

Bottle thanks to Rune and Finn. Drunk at home whilst watching jokes about camels. Totally black beer with thick tan head. It’s a thickish beer. Some molasses some liquorice. I prefer a more coffee and chocolate porter. It’s thick and quite tickley dry malty on the finish. Some dryness. It’s a tasty thick porter. Wow. it’s really intense.

This is a heavy, big-character beer. First Baltic porter I’ve had from the actual Baltic sea. Malt smells a little skunky with some roast. Aroma has lots of smokiness, some coffee. A little bit of caramel sweetness. There’s some bitterness in the end. Pretty low carbonation, and some alcohol. Not much head, some lacing. Pours black and red around the edges. Great mouthful of beer - epic palate. On tap at Blue Monk.
