Bottled (Alvinne shop, BB 02/2015)
Deep amber color, big cloudy off-white head, lace. Hoppy, Belgian yeasty and slightly horse blankety nose with hints of lemon candy. Medium-bodied. Sweetish yeastyness. Duvel-like hayish-fruity bitterness. Tasting much more Belgian than American. Decent, but these three brewery collabrations are usually more interesting than good.

Bottle. A gusher, producing a hazy, golden body under a huge, coarse, collapsing off-white head. Milky and citrusy nose, with the hops quite evident. Citrusy and slightly milky flavor with some sweetish pale malts. Very yeasty and with a good bitterness. Medium body, effervescent. This one had certainly gone bad, but it was still drinkable, bet it was quite nice when straight out of the brewery. 100327

33 cl. bottle from Beer Temple, Brussels. Beer spurted out of the bottle upon opening, as a result it was very cloudy. Aroma was hoparomatic, a bit of laurel/bay leaves (drop) and some caramel. Taste was refreshing, a bit hop-bitterish, with a fairly bitter finish. The hops are detectable in this beer, but it doesn’t really come out very well/much. Bit disappointing.

Bottle. The appearance is the best thing about it. It looks very nice with a cloudy orange liquid and a big white head. Boring aroma, notes of yeast, black currants and some hops. The taste is unbalanced, dominated by aggressive spices and lots of alcohol. Interesting in some ways, but the end product is not very good.

Bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Pours with a huge off-white head and a golden body. Aroma of alcohol, cinnamon, caramel, grape and grass. Taste is slightly sour, dry, bitter, grape. Dry body with lively, yet creamy carbonation.

Bottle poured by Urbain at Struise. Batch number 5. Collaboration of Alvinne & Struise, but with a Chicago-tweaking of the hops marathon. Bright orange with a thick white head and delicate lacing. Floral hops aroma. Flavor starts with malt and progresses to a light bitterness. Light body for the style. Decent early evening brew.

Bottle at Monk’s CafΓ©, Wallingatan

The bottle is gushing; it pours a drop of beer with a glassful of foam; left in the glass, a cloudy orange-amber colored liquid appears, and the head reduces to a thin layer, supported by the perlage. The aroma is delicate, it shows first the noble Belgian yeast, with its sicy side, then some hop fruitness. The mouthfeel is dry, the body strength medium; dry caramel flavor, with a sharp spicy character; bold bitterness, but that combines well with the spices. The final is too dry in the beginning, then smoother. A good spicy Belgian Ale, with just a light additional fruity touch.
