Pour is a cloudy bright orange with a white head. Aroma is a decent grain with a good estery yeastyness. Flavor is a nice green grassy hop with a dry almost pils malt. Finish has some sweet fruit and pepper. This was a fine saison, not mind blowing but it’s got all the things you are looking for. I thought this brewer was from Belgium with the name but suprised to see this made here in the USA.

Bottle. Amber beer with a cream head. Toasted malt and spice aroma. Malt and light citrus flavor with light yeast and light spice. Medium bodied. Citrus and spice lingers with malt.

Bottle from Bine & Vine. Pours hazy gold with a slight whiteish head. Aroma is mostly bubble gum! Med body. Flavor does have that bubble gum with some clove. Like a cross between a hefe and a Belgian. Very floral. Definitely bitter. It’s very unusual and quite tasty.

Bottle number 6851 of the first batch (original label). Pours with a mostly clear, pale yellow hued body with a medium sized white head. Good retention. Aromas are a bit restrained yeast wise. Mostly bready malt, pils like, some floral and earthy hop character. Noble, spicy. Pretty light esters, low isoamyl acetate, a touch of bubblegum, candied kumquat. Phenols are moderate, peppery, sage, amplified by the hops. A slight hint of DMS as it warms. Smells dry. No chlorophenol which is always encouraging from a beer being produced in the 95112 area code. Flavors show a much larger amount of DMS. Quite bitter as well, medium peppery, grainy, bready, pils. Oddly slick, oily, and mineral laden mouthfeel. Lasting grassy, lightly astringent notes. Fruity pebbles. Hop character is nice and herbal. Medium bubble gum, low esters. Medium to slightly higher carbonation. carbonation. Some baked biscuit/muffin notes from the malt. Grainy and a bit chalky. Medium bodied, dry finish. I like this quite a bit less than B West’s initial two draught offerings.
