Saku Tume is Estonia's only strong dark lager, brewed on a combination of pilsner, Munich and caramel malt, as well as burnt sugar. This gives the beer its special dark colour, unique sweet taste and a rich fragrance bouquet.

A characteristic of dark beer is that in order to get a better feel for its taste nuances, it has to be enjoyed at a slightly warmer temperature. Whereas the ideal serving temperature of light beer is considered to be 6-8 °C (straight from the fridge) the ideal temperature for drinking Saku Tume is 11-15°C.

Clear light ruby brown colour, small frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing, good lacing. Malty aroma, caramel, bit toasted, brown sugar, light liquorice, bit basement. Taste light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, malty, burnt sugar. Medium body, oily to sticky texture, average carbonation, aftertaste sweetbitter, maltiness persists, roasted caramel notes. Not a typical bock but nevertheless decent Dunkler Bock.

Quite a dark brown colour. Both the aroma and flavour are sweet with caramel dominating and some liquorice in the background.

Pours a dark amber color, topped with average tan colored head. Sweet malty aroma is easily picked up. There are also some fruit notes present. The taste is malty and sweet, some caramel added in the end. Small bitterness. OK, but nothing special.

50cl bottle pours with a dark amber body that supports a forty second light mocha colored head. The aroma offers up brown sugar, caramel and then other burnt sugars mixed with prunes and date fruitiness. The taste is sweet with brown sugar, molasses and caramel malts mixed with sweet prunes and date fruitiness. Sweet tasting brew.

Das Bier im Glas ist dunkelbraun-rötlich. Recht süßes Bier, viele Fruchtaromen, brauner Zucker, Karamell. Leicht getreidig. Der Nachgeschmack ist klebrig-süßlich, malzig-getreidig und leicht herb. Spannend.
