Saku Tume is Estonia's only strong dark lager, brewed on a combination of pilsner, Munich and caramel malt, as well as burnt sugar. This gives the beer its special dark colour, unique sweet taste and a rich fragrance bouquet.
A characteristic of dark beer is that in order to get a better feel for its taste nuances, it has to be enjoyed at a slightly warmer temperature. Whereas the ideal serving temperature of light beer is considered to be 6-8 °C (straight from the fridge) the ideal temperature for drinking Saku Tume is 11-15°C.

33 cl bottle. Pours clear and golden deep amber to brown with a tan head. Aroma is toasted malty and breadish. Toasted, caramelish and breadish. Bitter and lingering toasted malty finish. Sweet, almost sugarish, yet mainly breadish/caramelish brew.

Appearnce: brown color. Head dissapears quickly. Aroma has strong caramel. Taste is also really dominated by caramel. There is some sweetness and nice bitterness behind caramel. Overall: decent beer, but just somewhat out of balance for me.

Dark Brown, Medium Head, Little Lacing. Aroma is yeast and faint sweet raisins. Toasted, Malt, Caramel. Thinner Than expected. After reading other reviews, thought it gonna be very sweet and I did not get it. Well hidden ABV. OK. Worth at least one try...

A lovely dark ruby brown with a light beige head. The aroma is a soft roast chocolate. The taste is quite smooth, sweet roast coffee, toffee & caramel. A really nice dark beer, easy to drink & a good standard dark brew. Pick it up when in Estonia, for 1 euro a can how can you NOT try it?

Pours red-brown with a thin tan head. Oxidized caramel scent, cardboard and dust. Sweet, but with a petroleum aftertaste.....spray paint.... Settles down to a bready, malty flavour....probably not too bad if fresh.

Bottle. Light caramel malt and cardboard aroma. Medium brown with large tan head. Sweet caramel malt and cardboard flavor. Oxidized - not horrible but seems more like a dunkel/tmavy.

Canned, 0.33l. Clear amber brown color with average frothy orange brown head, normal visible carbonation and no lacing. Aroma of light bread, caramel, roasted malt, light chocolate and berries. Taste starts with moderate sweet malt, mildly roasted, then followed fresh sour fruity with spicy mouthfeel and finished with long moderate bitterness. Medium to full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation and light astringent and alcoholic finish in palate. Courtesy of CanCrusher, many thanks for Baltic headliner...
