Can: Clear, dark, copper-amber with a short beige head. Strong apple, caramel scent. Taste is apple-peel, malt, toffee. Very soft...a bit flat.. Slight leafy bitter. Mild, with a great flavour.

Gylden brun med hvitt kremete skum. Mild karamell og blomsterlukt. Litt søt karamell, men veldig lite smak på denne. Kort ettersmak, ingen bitterhet.

500ml bottle at home. Pours clear amber gold, no real head to speak of. Aromas are metallic and light spicy hops. Taste is caramel, then a nice bitterness. Too fizzy though, and thin on the finish.

0,5 l boks fra supermercadoen i Elviria: fruktig og behagelig på alle måter, men miles behind Ruddles County som jeg hadde først, både hva aroma og smaksrikdom (og ikke minst cremeskum og smoothness) angår.

Bottle. Brown colour with an off-white head, medium lasting. Aroma is slightly sweet, caramel, nuts and floral hops. Flavor is cerealish at the beginning with earthy notes and English hops. Slightly bittery final.

500 ml can. Bright orange, copper color topped by a medium-sized mousse-like beige head. Light biscuity toasted malt nose with brown sugar notes. Light bittersweet toasted malt flavor has hints of toffee and hazelnuts. Some light floral hops in finish. Dry bitter aftertaste.

Nice smooth bitter here(.5l bottle). Taste of toffe, aroma of butterscotch and caramel. Nice copper color with small creamy head. Mouthfeel hits the spot for this style. Imagine the tap variety would be a little creamier, but good effort here...

Jan 2007 from BA: Blind tasting of a pint bottle at my brother-in-laws, served in a Berliner Kindl half litre sleeve glass, just to test me! Obviously a British Ale, but not obviously a Pale Ale. Amber, with an off white head, looked OK. Malts and nothing else came to my nose, even as the beer warmed in the glass, but I have found this is not unusual for a lot of British beers. The taste was of a bog standard English Ale, nothing special, I didn’t pick up on the 5% ABV at all, thought it much weaker. The mouthfeel was watery and thin, very little aftertaste. I was very surprised when I was shown the bottle, because this beer on cask is normally very good, I used to use a bar that put a barrel on every Friday night, people would travel miles to have some, sadly the bar has changed, maybe the beer has too.
