(Bottle) Hazy golden with big loose off-white head. Very pleasant aroma - caramel with fresh fruits - citrus and pineapple - maybe a buttery hint the background. Medium body with lots of carbonation, maybe a tad too much. The taste is unusual, and to me does not really work. The start is pleasant, fresh, fruity over some soft light caramel sweetness. This all sort of gets lost in the mid palate - it’s not that it lacks flavour here just that it’s rather confused. Then a big aggressive bitterness appears and hangs around a long time. It seems a bit confused too - in part it has some refreshing crisp aspects, but it also has some harsh aspects. Overall, an interesting experiment, but not one that could really be called a success.

I didn’t realise lagers could be this good, although calling it a lager is under selling it. The aroma includes dates, aniseed, grapefruit and toffee. There’s enough malt to make it chewable as well as a good dose of hops to stop it from being too cloying

From a 330ml bottle on 27/1/2013. Pours a cloudy medium golden with just the barest hint of a head. The aroma is primarily stone fruits with a touch of fermented apple. The flavour is big, with more stone fruits (apricot and peach), a touch of tropical fruit (pineapple), with a sharp citric bitterness which lingers. The body is full and the carbonation medium. Notwithstanding the advertising blurb, this presents as every bit of 7.1%. A very good beer.

Bottle, 8C. Amber with a modest white head that lasts OK. Aroma of lychees, melon, grapes, caramel. Syrupy with low carbonation. Sweet with fudge, grapes, light tropical notes. Bitterness struggles to emerge, tropical and spice notes seem a bit medicinal. Not my sort of thing.

Pours deep amber with a fading head.Nose shows big fruity hops, lots of pear, peach and floral notes. Also some sweet caramel and crystal malt.A fair bit of malt in the flavours too, along with lots of fruity and piny hops and an aggressive finish of alcohol and bitterness.Could use more carbonation. Body feels overly thick.A bit too boozy.
