almost black colour, medium brown head; aroma of roasted malt, ash, coffee, liqueur made from herbs and oak barrel; taste of herbs, chocolate, alcohol and roasted malt - not bad, but a bit too syrupy and herbal...

Split a 750ml bottle with mcart034 a week or so ago. Poured a really dark, motor oil color, smooth, and vibrant with a nice, tan, creamy-looking head. Aroma had plenty of oak and vanilla notes, roasted qualities to it - with a coating of bourbon throughout the sniff. Flavor was nice, rich bitter chocolates, with roasted malts, oak, vanilla and bourbon. Alcohol is present, but is very nicely mellow throughout - not harsh at all.

Tap at Alchemy. Opaque black body. Rusty beige head. Smooth sweet chocolate bourbon aroma. Big, rich, full bodied. Sugary sweet, but lots of depth. Some caramel, bourbon heat, chocolate, licorice, leather, tobacco. Intense, a tad brutal, but a really cool beer.

750mL bottle, pours black with a medium brown head. Aroma of wood and whiskey upfront, with notes of roasted malt and caramel further back. Flavour is very intense, with rich woody barrel notes upfront, full of whiskey, wood, roasted malt and caramel. Quite highly carbonated for the style. Something in the barrel aging must've created the livelier carbonation as the base beer is more regularly carbonated. The hops that are prominent in the base beer aren't very apparent in this barrel aged version. Great stuff, but I prefer the base beer.

750ML 2012 vintage, solid 20% gusher, 3 finger head fades to nothing. looks still but has some lacing on the swish. Served at cellar temp. you can smell booze from 2 feet away. Loads of chocolate and roasted barley. A hint of vanilla drinkable but inthis format, I don’t know if I could consume an entire 750.

355ml bottle. Pitch black colour with small to average, frothy to creamy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, brown head. Intense dark malty aroma has notes of chocolate, oak, leather, vanilla, treacle. Taste is minimally to moderately sweet dark malty, counterweighed by dry oak and leather notes, some warming alcohol in the finish.

Znakomity imperialny porter, lezakowany i starzony. Bardzo mi przypominal imperialnego Stouta takze od Flying Doga. Palone i intensywnie slodowe, a slody przewazaja karmelowe, palone, kawowe i troche gozkiej czekolady takze doznamy. Wspanialy czarny kolor i ciemna piana ktora opada szybko ale pieknie wyglada, jest drobno pecherzykowata i brazowa. Finisz rozgrzewajacy pomieszany ze slodkoscia goryczkowy finisz. Mistrzostwo

Tap. Pours opaque black with a medium brown head and good lacing. Aroma is coffee, dark roasted malts, very light whiskey. Flavor is about the same, with some whiskey that becomes more pronounced as the beer warms. Lightly sweet, some woody astringence. Light to medium body, strong warming finish giving away the ABV.

Bottle @ home shared with Dutchdrebus. Opaque pitch black color with a medium sized brown head that diminishes fairly quickly but leaves fair lacing. Aroma has malts, lightly roastyness, alcohol and wood, clearly wood. Taste malts, lightly roastyness, some alcohol, wood, whisky. Full taste, medium body, medium to full carbonation. Very balanced, very nice!

Bottle @ benzai. Opaque black colour with a brown head. Smells coffee, roasty, oak, whisky, green twigs, dark chocolate. Tastes really amazing. Dark chocolate, roasty, oak, wood, nuts, whisky, sweet. Lasting taste, lots of thing going on in the aftertaste. Could use a bit more silky body and softer carbo.. But still it’s great.
