The Magnificent Mullets (aka mississippi mudflap; meerasche) are back! We wanted to celebrate those who have donned one of the great hairdos of yesteryear, and what better way than infusing various fruits into a delicious Sour Ale. The flavour is short and tart up front, but long and guava-ey at the back.

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a cloudy light yellow with a slight peach hue and a white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a deep tart guava with a touch of funk underlying. Flavor has a funky tart guava with a slight acid and a light grain underlying.

Pours pale straw with a large head.Nose shows funky brett notes, very soft guava, gooseberries, lemon. Not particularly interesting.A little more guava is noticeable as a flavour, mostly as an underlying sweetness amidst the brett and very faint acidity.Carbonation is a bit full on.

Bottle, 6C. Hazy yellow with a few clumps and a small but well-retained white head. Aroma of guava and plenty of the barnyard, some puke and rotting flesh. Quite confronting - the sort of smell tropical fruits or washed rind cheeses have that you might decide you don’t mind after you’ve dared to taste them. Taste is tart and dry with a strong wheaty tang. There’s some fruit lurking underneath too, but I don’t know that I would have picked it as guava. Highish carbonation in a light body with some kefir-like mouthfeel. Refreshing. Unlike the watermelon one, this is out there. [3.6] Hazy yellow with a large white head that lasts and leaves sheets of lacing in La Trappe glass. Aroma is not confronting like before, separating into clear fruit and sour wheat/ lemon/ vanilla. Creamy and slippery mouthfeel. Very dry at the end with moderate tartness that lingers.
