Pours amber with a large fading head.Nost shows tropical fruit, pine and grapfruit along with a soft clean malt presence. Flavours mainly focus on the pine, grapefruit and some caramel malt. Later on a some kumquats are noticeable followed by a bold bitterness.Nice moderately high carbonation.

Bottle. Clear orangish amber with a large white head. Aroma of grapefruit and other citrus, nectarines, passionfruit. Slightly oily mouthfeel, rather lowish carbonation. Taste is slightly sweet with some stone fruit and biscuit, light tropical and heavier citrus flavours, before solid bitterness. Dry finish with aromatics returning to linger after being partially obscured in the gulp.

From a 568ml bottle on 25/10/2011. Pours a clear light golden with a small head. Has a lovely floral, tropical fruit (particularly passionfruit) aroma. Flavour wise, you get orange, marmalade and a bit of grapefruit. It has a solid hop presence, though it’s quite subdued for something described as a DIPA. This is a very enjoyable beer, and quite quaffable. Strikes me as being more of a standard IPA than a double/imperial.
