Nice aroma. Roast, toffee overtones. All in all a tidy effort, not as good as another South Australian which is one of my favs - Pepperjack.

(bottle) Poured clear dark amber / red with no head. Lovely aroma that developed over time, starting with floral and perfume notes evolving to a toffee / candy with hints of fruit (passionfruit?). Light body, well carbonated. Flavour has a nice balance of richer sweeter tastes like toffee and raisins with clearer cleaner refreshing notes. There is a little pleasant bitterness in the finish. Overall it is very quaffable beer, with a nice balance.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/10/2011. Pours a clear dark amber with a small head. Has a mild chocolate malt aroma. The flavour is also primarily milk chocolate, with some mild roasty notes, and a mild hop finish. A vast improvement on their weak ale and dry brews, but that’s no great achievement. A passable effort but fairly dull for a dark beer.

Bottle. Clear brown with a beige head. Aroma of caramel, grass, mild spices. Sweet with caramel, some nuts, modest spicy bitterness that hangs around a bit. Not much life in the mouthfeel. Not my sort of thing but OK.
