Bottle. Clear dark brown with a creamy beige head that lingers well. Aroma of dark caramel, chocolate, dough, light sweet-shop spices. Very slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Moderately sweet with chocolate, caramel, grass, cardamon pods, vanilla. Contrary to the description, hops are much in evidence, it’s just that they play a decidedly supporting role. If this had a tiny hint of a bass note it would be a lot more engaging. Almost the fabled imperial mild.
