(Bottle) Lovely clear pale gold with reasonable white head. Nice aroma of lemony citrus and pine over some soft malt notes. Great palate - carbonation is bright and delivers a velvety mouthfeel. The taste is very much dominated by the hops. A short-lived fruity start quickly gives way to hop bitterness that keeps on developing through to a long finish. Overall, it is a fine beer, but the hops are too dominant.

Bottle. Slightly hazy gold with a decent, off-white head. Decent pale ale, with plenty of citrus fruits, biscuity malts and a lingering, dryish finish. Good.

From a 330ml bottle on 14/10/2011. Pours a very cloudy dark orange with some massive yeasty chunks settling at the bottom of the glass. Has a strong sweet citrus (orange) and floral aroma. There’s more sweet citrus fruit in the flavour, with some marmalade, caramel and honey. Has a big hop bitterness with some grapefruit notes. This is a big, flavoursome and impressive APA. Nice work from Red Duck.

Pours cloudy dark amber with a small off-white head.Nose shows some floral and light fruity hops. Some clean malt underneath. Faint lemon shows later. Pretty light on.Even less hops in the way of flavours, although there is an aggressive bitterness. Hardly any malt shows. Big metallic character in the finish.Carbonation could be a bit higher. Body feels pretty watery.

Bottle, 8C. Hazy light amber with a rather small white head. Aroma of orange zest, tropical fruits - longans and custard apple (of which I’m not a fan) - a little caramel. Taste is quite sweet and less fruity than suggested by the aroma and decent citrus bitterness come through at the finish. Had the one a bit warmer last night and didn’t like it at all - bigger sweetness and the finishing bitterness didn’t poke out much at all. But cold it’s OK.
