Aventinus, the Wheat Doppelbock of Bavaria, has always been known to be the most intense and complex wheat beer in the world. This was the case for the past sixty years, but not anymore... Up until the 1940’s, Aventinus was shipped all over Bavaria in containers lacking temperature control. Consequently, the precious drink partially froze during transportation. Unaware that the brew was concentrated by the separation of water from the liquid. People were baffled by this unique version of Aventinus. By chance, the first Aventinus Eisbock was created. Well aware of this story, Hans Peter Drexler, brewmaster of the Schneider brewery, decided to recreate this classic "mistake" in a modern controlled facility. Thus, the Aventinus Eisbock is reborn sixty years later ... Prost!

A deep dark bock with a very thin brown head. In aroma, beautiful mix dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, molasses, very nice and rich. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity mix of dark fruits, licorice, alcohol warmth, very nice and rich. Bottle from lcbo, probably 2014.

Bottle from That Beer Place, Chester – as Schneider Weisse Aventinus Eisbock Has a strong aroma, mainly that of alcohol, but also hints of cherries. Pours a rich burgundy red with minimal, transient cream head. And low carbonation. A lot of alcohol again in the taste, but also figs, banana, nuts and spices with a sweet malt base underneath it all. Finish is mainly the burning of alcohol everywhere from the lips to the stomach ! Fantastic beer if you take time to appreciate it.

330ml bottle. Poured a murky medium brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is toffee malt, treacle, red berry fruits,. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a sweet toffee, fruity, warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

Dark brown color, small beige head, no resistance. Malty, sweet aroma, some fruit, with alcohol feeling. Also alcohol feeling on taste, but with addition of sweetness and lasting fruity feeling. Really nice balanced, but because of combination malts and fruits with higher ABV it is not for everyone taste. I am delighted. Moderate body, medium carbonation. Do not drink more than one for full pleasure.
