Das klassische Gaffel Kölsch ist eine besonders frische Kölner Bierspezialität, die nach bewährtem Familienrezept und dem Deutschen Reinheitsgebot von 1516 mit Wasser, Malz und Hopfenextrakt gebraut wird. Der feinherbe, angenehme, leicht hopfenbetonte Geschmack ist charakteristisch für dieses Traditionsprodukt und unterscheidet Gaffel Kölsch deutlich von allen anderen Kölschmarken.

Bottle at home from Kris Wines. Very clear and very pale blond colour with big white creamy head. Aroma is predominately grainy and malty and slightly appley. Ultra crisp taste with some light bitterness at the finish, and of course lots of wheat and grain again. Slightly floury too. I quite like Kolsch, and this is a pretty nice Kolsch as far as I am concerned. Uncomplicated, but just nice.

Bottle. Slightly soapy aroma with orange. Soft, just a bit soapy flavor with orange and very little hopbitterness, maybe a bit in the aftertaste. The emphasis is on the freshness. Still, not too bad: fresh from tap in Köln it must be a quite good beer. Re-rate tap: not a great differnce from the bottled version. Light and fresh and a hint of soap. Grassy. Not unpleasant.

0,33 l bottle from Getränke Hoffmann, Deutz. Clear dark golden in the glass, more than one finger white head. Soft malty grainy smell. Taste is smooth malt with grain, low fruitieness in the background. Above average carbonation for a Kölsch in my opinion. Crisp.
