Very dark brown with a small light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, grass - smells just like a Croweater stout. Soft taste of light roast, chocolate, prune-like sourness and grassy bitterness. Mouthfeel improves after a swirl or two - it’s quite gassy. I’ve a soft spot for Sth Australian stouts and this is a plain and easy-drinking specimen of a style that kept decent beer alive in this country until very recently.

Pours black with a small tan head.Nose shows a fair bit of chocolate and some roasted barley notes. Pretty rich.Roasted barley dominates upon tasting with little complexity. Quite dry, big roasty bitterness.Carbonation is too high.
