Bottle. Color: Dark ruby, light brown head. Taste: Smooth, mostly light roasted medium sweet malts and caramel. Hints of brown sugar ans some hopbitter hints. Typical English style ale.

Fles gedeeld met TomHendriksen. Donkerbruin helder bier met rode gloed. Weinig schuim. Weinig aroma. Smaak van hout, koffie en gebrande mout. Nasmaak is iets bitter.

F: not big, tan, average retention. C: coppery, clear. A: malty, herbal, red fruits, apple, wet woody, nutty. T: malty, fruity, herbal, leather, caramel, medium body, medium carbonation, not as simple as it tastes on first sip, enjoyed, 0,5l bottle from Sainsbury’s Local shop, Baker street, London.

Sampled from tap at ’The Shakespeare’. Clear, dark brownish red with a medium large, frothy, slowly diminishing, white head. Sweetish, slightly malty and a little fruity aroma of caramel, raisins and some licorice root. Sweetish-malty, slightly bitter and a little fruity taste of caramel, raisins and licorice root, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a bit spicy and slightly dry finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, but not really my cup of tea.

From old tasting notes. Deep amber red color topped by bubbly beige head. Mild toasted malt aroma. Hints at baked bread. . Bittersweet malt flavor leans toward dried fruit and spices. Very well balanced ang flavorful.
