330ml bottle poured into a 500ml Weizen. Even poured slowly the head is still way out of the oversized glass. Gungy yellow with lots of bubbles. Smells wheaty and spicy. Taste has a little sweetness and lots of tartness and spice (cloves, coriander, vanilla). Not too much banana character, lots of bread and spice. Tangy finish. This is the most like the hefeweizen I’ve had on tap in Germany of any bottled version I’ve tried, including German brews.

From a 330ml bottle on 11/1/2010. I may have just got a couple of bottles from a dud batch but the insane carbonation made this almost impossible to drink. Had the worst palate of any beer I’ve ever consumed in fact. It pretty much exploded into froth as soon as it hit my mouth. Leaving it sit in a glass for a while allowed me to actually taste the beer in liquid form, but it wasn’t really worth the wait. Had the prototypical banana-like fragrance and flavour, but was uninspiring. Will have to try this again in future, as my experience is clearly at odds with others who have tried it.

Hazy golden color. Very clovey nose with a touch of bananas. Well balanced. Slightly spicy mouth, a bit too low for carbonation, but good depth. Refreshing.

Murky amber/orange pour with small rapidly dissipating head.Lots of banana in the aroma, as well as citrus, wheat and some spicy alcohol and cloves.Very nice flavour, despite the lack of complexity. The expected wheat and banana are the main constituents, with a bit more of that tangy citrus in the background.Medium body with light spritzy carbonation.
