[backlog] 13-02-15 / bottle at The Castle Pub, Melbourne. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 3/5

Pours a murky golden with pretty much no head. Not a lot to the aroma - just a hint of clove and spices. The flavour is sweet and a touch spicy with the barest hint of banana. Has a thinnish body and moderate carbonation. I’ve been drinking a fair bit of Hoegaarden of late (its often really good value by the case) which sets the standard for a quality wit. This, by comparison, is very disappointing stuff. Dull and unpolished, it has an amateur home brew quality about it.

Smells like an orange creamsicle with coriander. A bit fake and off putting. The mouth is fairly gingery, but again feels a bit like they used cheap substitutes for the beer. Still refreshing and light. On a hot day it did the trick for me.

330ml bottle. Pale, slightly cloudy with an inch of white head. Aroma of lemon pudding. Thin body. Sweet, with little of the balancing sourness and clove/ coriander notes that I find this style needs to avoid being cloying.

Hazy pale straw pour, good persistent head showing some lacing.Artificial lemony aroma, with some sickly nutmeg and ginger. Really weird, it’s like there’s some eggs in there or something...Very similar flavours, faint lemon, nutmeg and that weird eggy taste.Very watery, moderate carbonation.Thought this may have been just a bad beer, but the whole sixer was like this.

Draught at AIBA, Melbourne. Cloudy blond. Aroma of vanilla and cherries. Slightly overcarbonated with some banana and big time wheat malt character. Solidly malty, yet fairly drinkable with low bitterness.
