A riff on our Surefoot Stout, brewed with 6 malts, blended with US and UK hops, delivering flavours of chocolate and caramel with a toasty finish and mild bitterness.

'Bottle. Pretty much black; a light tan head settles to a coat. Aroma follows familiar lines for a MG stout: moderate roast, mocha, some earth, caramel, mild spices. Some prunes too. Soft texture but fairly fizzy. Really quite sweet and the decent bitterness that creeps up after a time doesn''t quite do enough to corral it. For my tastes there''s a bit much caramel and coffee and not enough roast and chocolate. But the finish is decisively bitter and pleasantly spiced. Drank it about 12C - perhaps a little colder would have suited it better. '
