Can. Fennel and star anise: not what you expect from Lord Nelson. Gold with a good coat of white head. Aroma of bright anise, crackers, mandarins. Quite soft texture with the spice notes fitting quite well with the English yeast. Enough bitterness. Pretty good summer quaffer.

Sampled from the tap at the brewpub. Pours a clear yellow gold with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of anise with a fennel bite and a grain backbone. Flavor is anise forward with growing fennel and a light grain underlying.
