Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas. Tightly lacing, snow white, stable, medium thick head, lightly hazy straw blonde with peachy hue. Aroma of - rather strangely and unexpectedly - lemon-scented air freshener, withering flowers, sourdough, dried grapefruit peel, white bread crumbs, pear, green plum, apple peel. Fruity onset, Belgian esters in the form of banana and gooseberry but subtly so, some green kiwi and unripe peach, sharpish and minerally carbo, smooth grainy middle with softer bready edges, bittering finish, wormwood and grapefruit peel-like, long and adequate while some of the esters (and spicy phenols) linger on top of it. Classically conceived ’Belgian bitter blonde’, drying and quenching while still retaining the ’rotundity’ necessary to keep things in balance. I still don’t understand that ethereal and artificial lemon aspect in the nose, though...

Tap at Moeder Lambic. Easy drinking despite relatively high bitterness and lots of grassy resiny hops flavour. Malt in the background. Great one.
