Jet black pour, medium beige head. Dark, toasted almost charred malts, dark fruit, currants and some cocoa nibs. Carb is light and the body is a little thinner than i expected. Finish is very bitter with sharp bitter cocoa notes, and a burnt coffee, with hints of woody vanilla finish.

(500ml bottle from the LCBO, BB 6/16) Definitely well past it's stated best before date. Nearly black pour with a big pale tan head. Notes of acidic roasted dark malt, a little caramel, burnt nuts, soft vanilla, oak, subtle cacao, a bit of dark fruit, subtle salt liquorice, light green hoppy bitterness. Lightly sweet turning to fairly dry, a bare hint sour, astringent and roasty with moderate bitterness. Fairly thin body with average carbonation, no alcohol. For an old bottle this held up very well, not showing many overt signs of oxidation. Reasonably pleasant old school imp stout feel, not the easiest to drink but still pretty well-brewed.

0.33 l bottle from 'Biermuda', best before April 2018. Clear, very dark ruby to black with a thin, frothy, slowly diminishing, beige head. Sweetish-malty, medium roasty and minimally fruity aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, some licorice and hints of dark fruits. Quite sweet, malty, moderately roasty and a little fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut, some licorice and a touch of dark fruits, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, moderately earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, almost creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Classic Imperial Stout, great balance, good!
