Bottle. Deep amber with a beige head that's soon gone. Rich with layers of bread and crusty malt, dried fruit, perhaps a little more peat than I think really fits. Firm bitterness. A fine drop.

mahogany color. Big Smokey nose, unlike I’ve ever smelled before in a scotch ale, with nice malty sweetness in the background with cherries and caramel. Excellent nose. Off sweet Smokey, peaty, caramel, apples, cherries and very malty. Dry Smokey finish with cherries. Nice stuff

On Tap at Catfish, Fitzroy. Pours orange/red and somewhat cloudy. Soft notes of pear and toast on the nose. The peat is more pronounced than expected upon tasting. No cloying sweetness. And it’s a lovely drop for this choice. I love this style, so this works for me in a big way.
