Served up from a brown bottle in a cruise ship bar on a Caribbean trip. The tall fluted glass shows a dark, almost totally black body and a decent almond colored top. The smell is of licorice and grain. A drink gives back malt, grain, pecan and a bit of chocolate sweetness. Firm bitterness at the finish. Not great but pleasant.

Deep dark brown colour, small fizzy beige to tan head, mostly diminishing, light lacing. Aroma dark malts, caramel, cocoa. Taste light heavy sweet and slightly bitter, roasted malts, chocolate, burnt caramel, brown sugar. Sweetbitter aftertaste, burnt caramel, medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Quite sweet but considering the ABV a surprisingly tasty brew.

Bottle, 500 ml, courtesy of Luka, shared with JFK10000. Pours dark brown with small brown head. Roasted malts, some coffee and chocolate notes. Nothing too complex, light and watered down. Actually not that bad.

Bottle at home. Has a clear, deep brown color with a big, light brown head. Malty aroma of toffee, nuts, roasted malt, leather, chocolate and bread. The flavor is much simpler but also malty with more leather, wood and some caramel. Has a light and silky mouth feel, light body and bitterness. A very light and sweet porter.

Aug ’14. A 0.33 l bottle from Coop store, Upplands Väsby. Just like the regular Carnegie porter, it poured very dark brown body with small light brown head. Bread and roasted malt aroma, mainly coffee. Flavor was mostly sweet and a bit bitter but hops were not so fine as in regular one. Watery and thin in body, while not being smooth at all on palate! Finish was moderate, brown sugar, sweet, rather simple. Not bad, had its moments, but incomparable with regular version. No matter on alcohol content, this should have been better.
