22 ounce bottle courtesy of Santa. Shared at the 11th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 4/17/10. Pours a clear pale golden color with a thin white head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of citrus hops with some vegetal notes and a good bit of caramel maltiness. The taste is bitter citrus hops with caramel to balance. Interesting complex hop notes. Very nice. Medium bodied.

Bottle from a trade with FlssmrBrewAlum. Pours orange/amber color with off white head. Very malty aroma for a DIPA. There is some citrus hop aroma but not really strong. Flavor is sweet and malty with citrus hop bitterness. Medium body with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel. A good beer, but not as good as I thought it would be. Thanks Adam.

Bottle courtesy of HOPSHUNTER. Thanks for hunting this one down. Pours deep gold with copper hues and thin white head. The aroma is full of pine hops, a bit of resin and grassiness as well. There’s light notes of sweet sugary malts too. The taste begins with a quick pulse of sweet malts moving into bold pine and resiny hop bitterness where the sweet malts just don’t let go or give up in the face of all those hops. It gets sticky with malts well beneath the onslaught of hoppy resiny goodness. The touch of malts and lactose add very nicely to the big bold pine, grassy, a bit resiny and grapefruit like hop soup. Wow! Terrific IIPA.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber orange with an off white head that laces nicely. Aroma is full of citrus notes, particularly orange rind and an undertone of floral note. A surprising malty/grainy flavor in the beginning, but a citrus and piney hop flavor dominates till the finish. A bit thick on the tongue.

courtesy of hopshunter pours cloudy golden, white head. Aroma is hoppy, light lactose note and caramel. Flavor, lots of hops, even more so than Dreadnaught followed by sweet lactose, then covered by pine/spicy hops for a thick mouthfeel. Smooth and yet keeps a nice enjoyable bitterness. Notes of caramel and spicy finsih.

Bottle thanks to St.Fun. Pours with a hazed orange body and a creamy, off-white head. Aroma is perfumery, with tons of floral-flower notes, citrus, some honey and dough. Taste is bready, and sweet in an odd, coffee-creamer sort of way. Some lemon citrus, but really light hops for a DIPA. Creamy mouthfeel.

An extravagant thanks goes out to beerman6686 Dan for this special brew! Had the pleasure of sampling this at the 7/9/2009 Pittsburgh RB tasting extravaganza (PGHRBEXT) at the Sharp Edge Creekhouse. It will be a long time, if ever I see a spread of bottles like I did there. I am not good enough for the beers that were that we served! For example, how about this beer: appocolypse cow! Some hop aroma, just mildy. Cloudy pale color. Triple hop impact greets the tongue followed by a tad of lactose sweetness. Way too hoppy for this lager lover but a welcomed beer tasting experience. Hey, at least I can say I tried it. Bitter long hop medicinal over the top finish. Not too much to say except this stuff is on style. If there is any carbonation in there, I can’t detect it because of the shock to my taste buds. Rototilling across the surface of my tongue is this mouth coating liquid. Just rate em as how I like em, I’m not expert enough to rate by style. Go get em cowboy! Thanks Dan for a chance to try this rude crude awfully on style bitter hoppy drink! Now my taste buds are ruined for the rest of the beers! WEW

Not normal but wonderfully so. Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a viscous murky apricot color with a small white head that lingered. The aroma was full and strong with sweet pine and fruity hops. The flavor was tangy, sweet, bitter and full of piney and fruity hops. The finish was long, tangy, fruity and sourish with a thick and full mouthfeel and sweet hoppy residuals that would not leave. Excellent.

Bottle: A hazy light copper pour with a small beige head. Aroma is hoppy, citrusy, and sweet. Tastes sweet and syrupy with hop resin and citrus. Light malty backbone. Soft, wet finish with lingering bitters. Not over the top like I’d expect from FFF, but enjoyable and overall quite drinkable. Thanks Adam!

22 oz bottle courtesy of tjthresh. Pour is hazed golden copper with a one inch white head. Nice lacing left behind. Aroma of resin floral, slight grapefruit citrus. Also some dirtiness, expressed mostly as earthiness. The lactose peaks out as the beer warms. Taste is more of the big resin, much more grapefruit citrus, another shot of resin, bunch more floral. The lactose is apparent late in the flavor, and mixes really interesting with fruit and floral, giving it a sweeter edge. Really big, in your face flavor, though still somewhat smooth and refined. Palate is medium, chewy, full and flavorful. I really liked this beer, thanks Tom.
