The original Christmas ale, Gordon Xmas started the tradition of Christmas brews. To accompany Christmas dinners and New Year evenings, it dons its party clothes, while its marrowy foam melts in the mouth as the white flakes on a red background tickle the nose. Never forget to put it under the Christmas tree!

Appearance- very dark brown, ruby tinges. A big, thick, clingy, foamy beige head. Aroma- cherries, red wine, cherry cake, nutty hints, malty bread, raisins. Taste- cherry liqueur, blended dark fruits, sweet malts, fruitcake, sweet lengthy finish. Mouthfeel is juicy. Very easy to drink for 8.8%.

From bottle. Pours a brilliant brown (or dark copper), with limited brownish/cappuccino head. Aroma is fruits under spirits, caramel. Body is dense. Taste is sweet, steering sweet, but with bitterness coming up as you keep your sip in your mouth. Finish leaves you a pleasant bittersweet mouthfeel.

Bottle - Toffee, fig and raisin. Deep dark brown with a decent beige head. Dark toffee notes, touches of spice and some bitterness. Lots of boozy notes which is surprising considering the not huge abv.
