Harrie is an accessible blond beer characterized by saison yeast. The daring use of different spices; szechuan pepper, mustard seed, juniper, and timut pepper give a funky twist to this traditional beer. A spicy beer with refreshing citrus flavors and a dry aftertaste.

Hazy yellow color with big white head - looks nice. Aroma of yeasts and a bit of sweetness, citrus. Taste is cookie dough, lemony, peppery, dry finish. Even a bit menthol/eucalyptus. A standard good saison, rather smooth in the carbonation, but fails to be something very special.

Tap at Kaapse brouwers. Straw colored with white head. Pineapple, cotton candy, vanilla, very spicy with white pepper and Thai spices. Sweet at first going into a dry bitter finish. Medium bodied. Nice!

Bottle, 0.33l. Hazy pale amber color with large frothy white head, yeast residue and sparkling appearance. Aroma is citric, yeasty, funky, musty and grainy. Taste starts with moderate sweet and fairly sour grainy malt, following is refreshing yeasty with fruity esters, mouthfeel is spicy, while finish is moderate bitter. Medium body, slick texture and fizzy natural carbonation in palate. Nice one...

330 ml bottle thanks to Ingo!Read "Kaapse Brouwers Harrie Saison" also marked CAT I and 6.1% ABV, 53 EBU.BB 31/10/16, sampled on January 4, 2015.Hazy yellow color, fairly big white head. Sugary sweet, estery fruity, yeast, spicy, a bit phenolic scent. Yeast, bitter, phenolic taste. Sweet, yeast aftertaste. Fizzy high CO2 mouthfeel, medium bitterness. Also phenolic clove aftertaste. When yeast sediment is poured into the glass the beer turns more dry, gets more citrus, ends up less phenolic and less sweet. So with the last pour I enjoyed the beer better personally, more balanced.Score reflects my notion of the beer without sediment, more of first impressions.

Bottle 330ml (AIH40)
Hazy orange color, steady medium-sized white head. Clove spicey and sweetish aroma. Light to medium bodied. A bit restless clove porridge with some bitterness in the aftertaste. XMas beer. Not refreshing as a Saison.

Bottled@AIH40 (from biernavigator). Orangeish golden colour, mediumsized white foamy/fluffy head. Aroma is spices, farmyard, some mild floral and citrusy notes. Flavour was slightly earthy and spicy with a bunch of citrus to it. Rather dry palate. So-so, it’s got it’s niced things, but ends up a bit on the harsher side.
